There’s “fashion” and then there’s well-made menswear guided by the dual principles of design and function. We’re proud to report that Universal Works makes the latter. Founded in 2009 by a veteran of the apparel industry, the pieces in Universal Works collections take heavy inspiration from working-class heritage and underpin them with contemporary aesthetics. The Travail Jacket takes its cues from timeless French workwear jackets, adds in some modern Japanese flavor, and then finishes it with impeccable detailing that takes it to the next level.
