Story

The original way to go casual

Back in 1964 when SeaVees was placing its first ads in old issues of Playboy, they were the only brand at the time to really push sneakers as casual footwear for men — and turned out to be a little ahead of their time. But flash forward nearly 40 years to a secondhand shop in Tokyo where the brand’s current lead designer Steven Tiller stumbled upon a vintage pair, and it’s clear that SeaVees are pure California sunshine-tinted gold. The Racquet Club is a sleek casual sneaker with clean lines inspired by mid-century modern design. The majority of the upper is made from one piece of wraparound suede — as soft and comfortable as it is stylish.
