If you've ever been lost on a ski slope somewhere, your best bet for finding your way back to the lodge is one of James Niehues’ hand-painted maps. Nicknamed the "Rembrandt of Snow" his artwork is damn near ubiquitous in the powder-loving community, with his signature maps folded into ski-pants and prominently framed in resorts all over the world. He meticulously paints with small brushes and airbrushes, and some maps take months to come together—but the result perfectly captures the unique beauty of each snow-blanketed haven.
