Story

Some of the most coveted steel in the world

Higonokami continues the Japanese tradition of Higo knives, a traditional style of Japanese pocket knife, with the Higonokami Folder. Crafted at Nagao Kanekoma Factory, which has been manufacturing Higo knives since 1894, the Higonokami Folder’s white paper steel blade is the epitome of hardness and purity.

About white paper steel

White paper steel, named for the wrapping paper traditional manufacturers present it in, is a result of the finest steel available being forged with great care and skill by the best blacksmiths. To make quality white paper steel the blacksmith must rely on his own metalworking skill rather than alloys or hardening agents. Thus the process requires the highest quality steel to be forged in the hands of only the most skilled blacksmiths in the world.
