We came across some curated diction in Yee-Lum Mak’s site Other Wordly. She scours the international word bank for combinations of letters that perfectly capture a unique sentiment. Then, either in translation and with the help of Webster, she provides her own definitions of the words—encapsulating the spirit of the word and its use (these are connotative definitions more than denotative).
Taking her curated letters and the etherial photography of our own Creative Director, Jeff Masamori, we made a pairing of images and words that expansively describes the content of the definition.
Instead of allowing some rambling prose stand in the way of a these words, we’ll let them speak for themselves. And for the limber linguists who can use one in a sentence, feel free to post it in the comments below.
And, because having too many good words in your vocabulary's quiver is never a detriment, we've added a handful of extra of these intensely right words...
